Hi, my name is Emma Gold, and I have immersed myself in the horse industry for over 30 years. My journey began in childhood, fueled by a deep passion for horses nurtured by my supportive parents. Starting as a stable hand for racehorses in the 90s, I transitioned to show hacks and explored the realms of "natural horsemanship" before gravitating towards western breeds in the early 2000s, particularly developing a fondness for Paint horses. Along this path, I have been fortunate to collaborate with exceptional horsemen and draw inspiration from influential figures such as Clinton Anderson, Warrick Schiller, Ian Francis, and Guy Mclean. Guided by these experiences, I strongly advocate for laying a strong foundation for young horses, ensuring their long-term success and fostering them into confident and reliable partners. Everything we do here at Sound Start is kept in house, from breeding, show prep and training right down to campaigning our own horses.
